A company that goes by the name of Blue Orb have decided to produce a little something of which many Phantasy Star Universe goers may find pretty handy. This little something is otherwise known as the Online Gaming Texter, and this version is just for Phantasy Star Universe players who may find in-game messaging and communicating a little difficult or tedious aboard the PlayStation2 or Xbox360 platforms.
How is this done? Well, it's actually very innovative! You simply use the two analogue sticks on your joypad to enter characters onto the screen - Genius!
Of course you may be using these analogue sticks for other in-game actions, but with just the click of the analogue sticks, you enter the texter mode of which means those two analogue sticks of yours are now very small keyboards.
To enter a character/letter onto the screen, you simply use one analogue stick to point in a particular direction (Each direction is pre-defined to a set of possible characters you can select), and then use the second analogue stick to point in another direction of which specifies which character of the possible set you were pointing at with the first analogue stick is selected.

Maybe that wasn't quoted out in the best and most understandable manner, but trust me when i say it looks simple to use. You may have to get used to it for a little while before it becomes a really efficient manner of typing and chatting in-game, but it does work! And incase you don't fancy making a fool of yourself in PSU when you first use the Texter Blue Orb have provided a 'Playground CD' in with the Texter with lots of mini-games for you to tryout with the device so you can learn and look like an idiot in the privacy of your own humble abode, before storming into the game and messaging like never before!
The product is completely SEGA licensed, and we'll be reviewing them in full very soon, as well as giving you the chance to win some for yourself! If you're interested then stay tuned!
