| Ragol.co.uk and PSUniverse.net Present: Community Spotlight Community Spotlight is a new feature for Ragol and PSUniverse wherein we interview some of the well known forum members and community regulars, so you the public can get to know them better and help us become one big happy, Phantasy Star-loving family! Our first Guinea Pig - ahem - star of the show is the one and only Lee-yoshi!
General Questions Hello there, Why don't we start by finding out a little about yourself.
I hate squirrels What is your gaming "setup" like? Well, I’ve got an Xbox360, a Nintendo Gamecube, and a Nintendo DS amongst many other older consoles of which I love to break out every now and again! I don’t really play many games on PC, aside from Phantasy Star! Oh, and I’ll be getting a Wii aswell of course ^_^’' What type of gamer would you categorize yourself as? A more casual, recreational gamer, or a hardcore teamster? :P Lol! Probabily casual, I wouldn’t go out on a limb and call myself a ‘hardcore teamster’, I wish I had enough time to be though, BWAHAHAHA! What is your favourite game of all time? Streets of Rage series :D What is your least favourite game? Hmm… that’s a good question! Maybe WCW Mayhem on Nintendo64, mainly because I borrowed loads of different peoples monies to buy it, and then when I got home, it was complete and utter sh*te! Stupid f**kin game! Favourite multiplayer game? Streets of Rage is a 2 Player Co-Operative game! Hehe I’d probably have to say Super Smash Brothers Melee though is probably my favourite multiplayer game of all time, drawn of course with Phantasy Star Online! What games and consoles are you looking forward to over the Christmas period? (Besides PSU of course :P) That are yet to be released, The Nintendo Wii will be pretty awesome, while games wise, Red Steel & Super Monkey Ball for Wii, there’s not been that much released this year I think. Recently I got Need for Speed: Carbon though and I might get Call of Duty 3 later. Favourite films and music? Favourite films, I don’t think I’ve got a specific favourite, but my most watched are probably Gone in 60 Seconds, and the James Bond & Naked Gun films! One great film of which nobody has heard of though is ‘Goodbye Mr. Cool’, everyone should go and watch it! You’d have to import it though! Casino Royale is also amazing, as will the Tenacious D film be! Oh look, that ties into my favourite music, good one eh? Greatest bands include Muse, Lostprophets & No Doubt! I’m always listening to music though so there’s never any particular best song ever, though at the moment it’s the Casino Royale theme tune (Chris Cornell (Audioslave) – You Know My Name), give it a listen!

Lee doesn't like to beat around the bush. Tell us how it is why dont'cha :P
PSO and PSU Questions How did you first find out about PSO and what drew you into the game itself? I’d always heard about it on SEGA Dreamcast, and if I ever bought one it’d be so I could have played that game! Then I heard it was being made for Nintendo Gamecube and immediately went mad for it! Do you have any fond memories of playing PSO you'd like to tell us about? Reminisce dear child! I’ve got two, how’s that for ya? :p The first best memory was when I went online with PSO for the first time ever, as it was also the first game I’d ever played online! After spending ages setting it all up, being the n00b that I was, and then finally seeing the Lobby background for the very first time after dialling up, it was just brilliant! The other best memory from PSO was the first ever Ragol.co.uk Battle Tournament. Alphard06 didn’t know what had hit it, there were so many users logged on, it was amazing, we were split out across lobbies because of the online characters limit! I may have gone out first round to the guy who won overall, but I just had a great time chatting with other great forumers of whom are now long gone – Come back guys! Hosting the Episode III tournaments too for me was also great! How did you originally stumble upon Ragol.co.uk and what kept you visiting time and time again? It was the first PSO site I saw, and after having a little browse around, the members seemed great, and it seemed like the perfect place for me to park myself! I wasn’t a forum n00b at the time having been a moderator of the Game Network Sky TV channel (RIP!) forums. Good times! Oh the days! Has much changed since you first became a member of the site? A bloody lot, been here for over 3 years now – Thank god it’s still around to enjoy ^_^ Members have come and gone… why don’t they stay dammit! We need a reunion here! Lol – Met a few of them and still chat to ‘em, but aside from that they’ve left us for somewhere else or taken up watching TV or something! ARGH! Everything used to be about Gamecube PSO, oh if only I could turn back the clock LLook at all the silly pictures of the early times! http://www.ragol.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=9575 Speaking of Ragol, you've recently become an admin and introduced to the world PSUniverse.net. Will we be seeing any more additions to the site in the near future and can you go into detail on what's in the pipeline? Heh, well we’ve just started a huge competition for PSU on PSUniverse.net and other additions and firsts to the site which I’m proud of include the T-Bay and SEGA affiliation! What’s the future hold? Christmas is almost here, and everyone who’s been with Ragol.co.uk during previous Christmases, or indeed for those new to us may be pleased with what’s coming up soon! Talking of PSUniverse.net, the site is now an official affiliate of SEGA! How did this come about? Did you approach them, or vice versa? They came to us actually! A marketing affiliate of SEGA of America came to us first giving us a few neat bits for Ragol.co.uk/PSUniverse.net, and then at almost the sametime, SEGA Europe themselves came to us and gave us more great bits in return for us helping them out to promote PSU including making the Ragol.co.uk forums official for PSU! Pretty bloody amazing if you ask me! Well, PSU is on the way to European shores very soon, what are you thoughts on the game and what will you miss from the previous installments? Hell yea I’ll miss PSO, I want a time machine dammit – But since that won’t be happening anytime soon, I’ll gladly enjoy PSU instead! Features I’ll miss? Probabily the people I initially played with online in PSO, I think the attitude of online gamers has maybe changed over the years between PSO & PSU’s release, but no doubt I’ll find loads of great people online when in get into PSU! Offline multiplayer will also be a great disappointment though, ah more great PSO memories! Thanks for your time and patience Lee, any closing comments for the viewing public? ^_^ Panda bears driving cars are bloody funny! (See Below). Thanks for the interview! Chao for Now!
